delicious - organic - local
Bluhouse begins at the Farmer's Market with a feeling of connection to a community of people who love local food. It is the excitement of the first harvest of garlic scapes, the memory of biting into a sun ripened cherry tomato or the delight of wild harvested chanterelles.
We believe that knowing where our food comes from is important and we strive to know our local growers and farmers as friends. From Kevin and Annamarie at Klippers Organics to Sasha, our fisherman who brings us wild caught ocean-wise sockeye salmon for the "Cove Crepe" we feel a connection to what fuels us and a deep respect for the people who bring flavour to our table.
And we think it tastes better this way!
Eating local allows us to focus on the seasons, celebrate the natural ebbs and flows of the west coast bounty and to appreciate food with a lower carbon footprint and a higher touch of love all the way from the grower, to the fork full of goodness at Bluhouse.
Our mission is to create a community gathered around beliefs that support our planet and spark conversation in the beauty of Deep Cove.

From the Founder
Growing up with memories of Dad washing the earth off a big bunch of carrots and helping Mom pick raspberries, planted the seeds of a desire to know where food comes from. I was fortunate to have this connection early in life and have nourished it on a quest for local, organic eating as a way of supporting our planet, farmers and communities while feeding my soul. Moving to Vancouver in 2010 and discovering the Trout Lake Farmer's market encouraged me to bring the incredible spirit of the market to Deep Cove. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing someone discover the flavours of good food grown with care, made with love and served in community.
